How Indian athletes fared on Day 7 in Rio

ARCHERY

Men's Individual Round of 16: Atanu Das lost 4-6 to world No 8 Lee Seung-Yun of South Korea.

ATHLETICS

Men's Discus Throw Qualification Round:  Vikas Gowda finished 28th overall out of 34 competitors. He placed 16th in a field of 18 in Group B. His best throw was 58.99 metres.

Women's Shot Put Qualification Round: Manpreet Kaur finished 23rd overall out of 35 competitors, with a best throw if 17.06 metres. She finished 13th in Group B.

Men's 800m Round 1 - Heat 3: Jinson Johnson failed to qualify for the semi-finals after finishing 5th with a timing of 1:47.27 seconds.

Men's 20km race walk: Manish Singh finished a respectable 13th with a timing of 1:21:21 seconds. Krishnan Ganapathy and Gurmeet Singh were disqualified after three warnings. 

Men's 400m Round 1 - Heat 7: Mohammad Anas finished sixth with a timing of 45.95 seconds and failed to qualify for the semi-finals.

Men's long jump qualification: Ankit Sharma finished 24 and failed to make the finals.

BADMINTON

Women's Doubles Group A: Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponappa lost to the Dutch pair of Eefje Muskens and Selena Piek 16-21, 21-16, 17-21.

Men's Doubles Group D: Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy lost to China's Wei Hong and Biao Chai 13-21, 15-21.

BOXING

Men's Middleweight (75kg) Round of 16: Vikas Krishan defeated Onder Sipal of Turkey 3-0 to enter the quarter-finals.

GOLF

Men's Individual Round two (Day 2) : SSP Chawrasia is at tied 30th after an even-par 71. Anirban Lahiri ended up a disappointing two-over 73 and is placed tied 51st after the second round.

HOCKEY

Men's Pool B match: India drew with Canada 2-2. India will meet Belgium in the quarter-finals. India finished with 7 points, following 2 wins, 2 defeats and a draw.

ROWING

Men's Single Sculls Semis C/D 2: Dattu Baban Bhokanlal qualified for Final C after finishing second in semi-final C/D 2. The 25-year-old timed 7:21.67 minutes. He will now fight for a world ranking between 13 and 18.

SHOOTING

Men's 50m Rifle Prone Qualification: Gagan Narang and Chain Singh finished 13th and 36th respectively.

Men's Skeet Qualification: Mairaj Ahmed Khan ends Day 1 at 10th with 72/75 points. The top 6 qualify for the final.

Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Qualification: Gurpreet Singh ends Day 1 at 10th with 289 points. The top 6 qualify for the final.

TENNIS

Mixed doubles quarter-final: Sania Mirza/Rohan Bopanna advance to the semi-finals after beating Great Britain's Heather Watson/Andy Murray 6-4, 6-4.
