Hockey India pruned down the list of core group probables of the senior women's team to 33 after a two-day selection trial at the Aish Bagh stadium in Bhopal.

Hockey India selectors B P Govinda, Savitri Purti and Surinder Kaur, along with government observer Harbinder Singh and chief coach Neil Hawgood, tested the fitness and performance of all the players during the trials, which concluded on November 10, before pruning down the list from 48 to 33 so as to build a strong team for next month's Test series in New Zealand and the FIH World League Round 2 Tournament, in New Delhi in February.
