27probables for Asian youth football

The All India Football Federation has selected 27 probables for the Under-20 national coaching camp, to be held in Shillong from September 12, in preparation for the AFC Youth Championship.

The camp, which will end on October 5, will provide high altitude training and be the last session before the final rounds of the championship, starting October 29.

After the training camp, the team will go to Kolkata for two weeks of acclimatization before the final rounds.

Similar camps have already been held in Kolkata, Gwalior, Bangalore and Goa.

The Asian Football Confederation will conduct the Youth Championship all over the continent in groups to chose the four teams that will make it to the World Youth Championship in Canada in June next year.

The two Indian centres to stage these matches are Kolkata and Bangalore.

The probables:

Goalkeepers: Arindam Bhattacharya, Shilton Paul, Primjit Meitei, Souvik Mondal, Kailash Das

Defenders: Baldeep Singh, Rakesh Masih, Aibor Khongjee, Gobin Singh, Baljit Sahni, F Lalmuanpia.

Midfielders: Branco Vincent Cardozo, Ong Tshering Lepcha, Hirohito Elangbam, Zaidinmawia Hmar, Lalramluaha, Malsawmdawngliana, Lalmarsawma Hmar, Hira Lal Chettri, Th Nooba Singh

Strikers: Reisangmi Vashum, Vimal Pariyar, Beevan D'Mello, Bimal Minj, Khangembam Thoi Singh, Gemseng Marak, Sushil Singh.

Officials: Islam Akhmedov (chief coach), Hering S (asst coach), Hemanta Dora (goalkeeping coach).
