India Under-18 score second win

The India Under-18 squad pulled off their second victory in three days, humbling County Antrium 2-0 in the Premier division of Milk Cup, for the BT Trophy, in Northern Ireland, on Tuesday.

According to reports, Stephen Constantine's young stallions galloped their way to a convincing victory over one of Ireland's most decorated youth clubs.

Mondal Rahaman put the Indians in the lead in the first-half and Manjit Singh sealed victory with a superb header.

Playing at the Mullaghacall stadium in Portstewart, the Indian colts gave a good account of themselves going into a positive mode right from the beginning.

They will face River Plate Buenos Aires of Argentina in the quarter-finals on Wednesday at Anderson Park, Coleraine.

River Plate lost their first match to Toulouse 1-2, then defeated County Tyrone 2-0 and lost to Leeds 0-1 in their last match.

In other quarter-finals, County Armagh will face Kilmarnock at Coleraine; Panathinaikos takes on County Londonderry at Roe Mill (Limavady) and Toulouse faces County Down at The Warren, Portstewart.

The semi-finals will be played on Thursday at Portrush and Roe Mill (Limavady), while the final will be played on Friday at Cricket Park, Ballymoney.

Otago (New Zealand), Botafogo (Brazil), NK Factor (Slovenia), River Plate (Argentina) and Universidad Catolica (Chile) are the other foreign teams along with India Under-18 in the Premier tournament.

The Milk Cup is divided into three categories, Elite, Premier and Junior. The Elite Group features players born in and after 1984, the Premier in and after 1986 and Junior in and after 1988.

The Indian team has played three matches of which they lost only to Preston North End, through a hotly disputed penalty.

They defeated Dynamo Kiev 2-1, before getting the better of Antrium 2-0.
