Ferrari chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo said on Wednesday he is confident his team would bounce back in Malaysia this weekend after making a terrible start to the season at the Australian Grand Prix.

Neither of the Italian team's drivers completed last weekend's Grand Prix, although world champion Kimi Raikkonen picked up a point after Honda's Rubens Barrichello was disqualified from a race that only seven cars completed. McLaren's Lewis Hamilton won.

"I have great faith in our team," Montezemolo told Sky web site.

"They'll know how to learn a lesson from what happened and we'll see the real Ferrari in the next Grand Prix."

Montezemolo said former team manager Jean Todt, who resigned as Ferrari chief executive officer on Tuesday but remains on the board, was helping to figure out what had caused the engines of Raikkonen and his Brazilian team mate Felipe Massa to fail in Melbourne.

"We are working day and night because we want to do well on Sunday," he said. "Todt called me and perhaps we know what happened to the two engines".
