Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is reportedly on the brink of sealing his dream move to Barcelona, but the midfielder will have to fork out 4.5 million pounds from his own pocket to do it.
According to reports, a verbal agreement between Arsenal and Barcelona was close, and Fabregas could return to the European champions by early next week.
Arsenal are set to agree a 35.9 million pound fee, which also includes 900,000 pounds a year which Fabregas has agreed to pay Arsenal out of his own wages over the next five years of his Barca contract, the Sun reports.
Fabregas has made no secret of his desire to return to Barcelona, the team he left at 16.
Arsenal has been holding out for around 45 million pounds and manager Arsene Wenger had vowed that the 24-year-old would not be allowed to move.
However, it has become increasingly obvious keeping Fabregas against his will would be a mistake.
