PHOTOS: Colours of the rainbow light up Premier League matches

In an effort to show equality and inclusiveness towards people of all races and sexual orientation, players, officials from the English Premier League and even the historic Wembley Stadium was decked in the colours of the rainbow.

The English Premier League tied up with Stonewall UK’s Rainbow laces campaign. According to their bio on Twitter, Stonewall is the LGBT equality charity.

The Rainbow laces campaign has one agenda – eradicating homophobia and ‘making sport everyone’s game’.

A match official wears rainbow coloured laces during the match between Liverpool and Sunderland on Saturday Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson as well as ManchesterCity captain Fernandinho were seen wearing arm bands dyed in the colours of the rainbow.

Kudos to the English Premier League for this support as LGBT rights is a massive challenge the world faces today and football is one great tool through which barriers of any kind can be broken.
