'England Player of Year' award goes to...

Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has been named England Player of the Year 2015 for the second consecutive time after becoming his country's all-time leading goal scorer.

The 30-year-old, who bagged the award for the fourth time, scored 51 goals in 2015 and thereby, surpassed Bobby Charlton's record of 49 goals.

Rooney also top scored with seven goals to help England qualify for Euro 2016 with a perfect record of 10 wins.

The Manchester United forward earned 37 per cent of the votes cast by members of the England Supporters Club.

Spurs striker Harry Kane was runner-up with 30 per cent and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart in third place with 19 per cent votes.

Meanwhile, Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland was elected Under-21s Player of the Year for displaying rich vein of form during this season.

The duo will be presented with the award ahead of the England's friendly against Germany in Berlin on March 26.
