Defending champions Prayag United ended Pune FC's Durand Cup campaign after defeating them 2-0 in the semi-final at the Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi on Wednesday.

Prayag United scored on either side of the lemon break -- first through Lukram James Singh (29th minute) and later off Joshimar Martins's 81st minute strike.

The loss was Pune FC's second to Prayag United SC in the six encounters played in elite tournaments.

Pune FC attacked from the start and forced a corner in the 4th minute, but failed to capitalize on the advantage.

However, as the game approached the half-hour mark, Prayag United broke the deadlock when James Singh found the back of the net off a corner.

Stung by the reverse, Pune FC fought hard but trailed 0-1.

On resumption, Pune FC chased for the equalizer but in vain.

Prayag went on to double their lead when Joshimar receiving the first touch from substitute Kayne Vincent put the ball home to seal the issue.
