Dempo have their tasks cut out when they meet Mahindra United in a fourth round encounter of the I-League football championship at Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Panaji.
Both the sides are at top of the tally without a defeat and have seven points in their kitties, although Dempo, on the basis of better goal difference enjoy an edge over Mahindra.
Dempo's defense, not tested so far in absence of Mahesh Gawli and John Dias, will be stretched to their limit with the likes of Mohammed Rafi and Muritala Ali, who had hat-trick against Salgacoar, figuring upfront.
Although Dempo boast of a strong mid-field, they will be missing defender Valeirano Rebello, who would be out of the match due to a double booking.
Hard working Anthony Pereira has taken much of the load on the right flank with constant movement and has put the rival defense under pressure with his overhead crosses.
Besides, Roberto D'Silva have combined well with Climax Lawerence to keep their strikers busy. Only worry for Dempo was striker Ranty Martins' poor form, but coach Armando Colaco hoped that he would find the rhythm.
On the other hand, Mahindra too have a good midfield.
They play more organised game and build their moves from the flanks with Steven Dias' lofted crosses pose a big threat to the rival defense. Mahindra coach David Booth admitted, "Dempo is a strong side and we have to play to our potential to beat them."
"I am pleased with the way the team is playing at the moment. The motivation and confident of the boys are high, now they have to maintain consistency if we are to taste success," Booth added.
Dempo manager Maurico Afonso, meanwhile, exuded confidence saying that his boys are gearing up for another challenge after their impressive win over Shillong Lajong in the last outing.
"We have the advantage of playing at home and hopefully the boys make best use of it," said Afonso.
