International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach is arriving in India on April 26 and will spend the next day attending meetings, including a crucial one with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Bach, who will be in his first visit to India after taking over as the head of IOC in 2013, will arrive in New Delhi late on April 26 and he will have a meeting with the Prime Minister the next day.
The IOC chief is expected to meet the Executive Committee of the Indian Olympic Association on April 27, though the schedule of the meeting is yet to be finalised.
"We are yet to receive the schedule, timing of Bach's meeting with the Prime Minister. Only after receiving it (from the government), we will be able to say on a meeting with IOA officials," IOA President N Ramachandran said.
Bach, who hails from Germany, is also expected to interact with the media before flying back to Lausanne, the seat of the IOC, on April 27 night.
IOA and sports ministry officials are tight-lipped on whether India will express its desire to bid for the 2024 Olympic Games during Bach's meeting with the Prime Minister.
President Bach recently met French President Francois Hollande to discuss Paris' prospects to bid for the 2024 Olympics. He has also visited several countries recently and have met the Prime Ministers of Hungary and Kosovo and the President of Serbia.
