India's Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis produced a stirring fightback to claim the Wimbledon women's doubles title under the Centre Court roof lights on Saturday.
Sania and Hingis claimed a thrilling 5-7, 7-6 (4), 7-5 victory against Russians Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina.
This is Sania's first doubles Grand Slam title and she becomes the first Indian woman to achieve the feat.
The Indian has won three mixed doubles Grand Slam trophies -- Australian Open (2009) and French Open (2012) with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi and the US Open with Brazilian Bruno Soares last year.
