Dung wins C'wealth chess

Grandmaster Nguyen Anh Dung of Vietnam won the Commonwealth men's chess title when he drew his tenth and last round match against Indian GM Dibyendu Barua in Mumbai on Sunday.

Dung finished with 8.5 points to his credit.

Woman Grandmaster S Vijayalakshmi of India, who finished a creditable joint fifth, won the women's title with a victory in her tenth round game.

Top seed Uzbek GM Rustom Kasimdzhanov had to settle for the second place with 7.5 points while Dibyendu Barua finished fourth.

Khazakistan GM Vladimirov Evgeny also finished among the top five with 7.5 points to his credit.
