Borussia Dortmund's Andre Schuerrle came off the bench to snatch a late goal as they twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Champions League holders Real Madrid in a compelling Group F encounter on Tuesday.

The Germany international lashed the ball high into the net from inside the area to level in the 87th minute after Raphael Varane had restored Real's advantage in the 68th.

The France defender's goal made up for an earlier slip that allowed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to cancel out Cristiano Ronaldo's 17th minute opener towards the end of the first half.

Dortmund and Real each have four points with the Germans top on goal difference, while Sporting Lisbon are third on three points after beating visitors Legia Warsaw 2-0.

"My players played very well and I think we deserved a little more but this is not a bad result," Real coach Zinedine Zidane told a news conference after a third successive draw following two in la Liga.

"We suffered a little because Dortmund pressed us a lot, although we knew we were coming to a difficult ground against a difficult opponent.

"The annoying thing is we have now drawn three games but we're going to turn this around. We're not going to stop."

The hosts made an electric start at the Westfalenstadion after Ronaldo tested goalkeeper Roman Buerki with an early free-kick as Gonzalo Castro and Aubameyang each shot straight at Real stopper Keylor Navas and Ousmane Dembele fired over.

Just as a Dortmund opener looked inevitable, Real struck from a perfectly executed counter-attack involving Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale which Ronaldo finished off by arrowing the ball into the far corner.

Thomas Tuchel's side stuck with their game plan of pressing Real high and hitting them with lightning speed, although their equaliser came from a free-kick.

Navas, making his first appearance of the season for Real, weakly punched Raphael Guerreiro's shot at team mate Varane and the ball trickled towards the goalline where it was helped across by Aubameyang.

The home side kept up the tempo after the break, although Real also grew in confidence.

Bale and Benzema wasted chances before Varane put Zidane's side ahead again, tapping home after Benzema had crashed a shot against the bar.

Dortmund again raised their game, though, and while Navas turned away two shots from lively substitute Emre Mor, he was powerless to keep out Schuerrle's rocket.

Slimani scores again as Leicester beat Porto

LeicesterCity forgot their domestic struggles to secure a second successive Champions League victory as Islam Slimani tormented a familiar foe by grabbing the only goal in a 1-0 win over Porto on Tuesday.

Leicester sit top of Group G with six points after Slimani headed powerfully home from a Riyad Mahrez cross in the first half for his sixth goal in his last four matches against Porto, having joined Leicester from Sporting Lisbon in August.

It was the first time Leicester had tasted Champions League football at home and they came into the game on the back of a 4-1 defeat to Manchester United and a run of poor form in the Premier League, but they looked comfortable throughout against Porto.

The visitors, who have one point from their opening two group games, did manage to rattle the post late on through Jesus Corona, but they were unable to exert sufficient pressure as they failed to win for the 17th time in England.

"We played with our spirit tonight," Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri said as his team stayed two points clear of FC Copenhagen at the top of the group.

"The last pass wasn't always there, but Riyad Mahrez made one fantastic pass for Slimani."

Leicester may be Champions League novices but in Slimani, the English side had a player who knew their experienced Portuguese opponents well and had enjoyed remarkable success against them.

He was signed from their rivals Sporting having scored freely against Porto in recent meetings and he was causing them trouble soon after kick off at the King Power stadium.

The Algerian served warning when he headed a Marc Albrighton free kick straight at Porto keeper Iker Casillas after 11 minutes but he was more clinical 14 minutes later.

Mahrez controlled a cross-field pass superbly, before shifting the ball out of his feet and curling a perfect cross into the path of Slimani who launched himself in front of the defender to head home.

It was his third goal in four games for Leicester, all of which have been headers.

Porto, who had looked sprightly in the opening minutes, seemed deflated, although a curling free kick from Miguel Layun that drifted just wide came close to levelling the encounter 10 minutes before halftime.

There were few real chances after the break with Mahrez having an early effort pushed wide by Casillas before Porto began to exert some pressure late on as Leicester sat back and sought to hit them on the counter.

Despite having a lot of the ball, Porto created little until the 84th minute when a rifled effort from substitute Corona was deflected against the post and away to safety.

Son strikes again to give Tottenham 1-0 win in Moscow

Son Heung-min scored his fifth goal in as many games to give Tottenham Hotspur a 1-0 win over a limited CSKA Moscow side in their Champions League Group E clash in Moscow on Tuesday.

Despite missing five key players, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was still able to name a strong line-up as Spurs played their first ever Champions League match in the Russian capital.

The English side started well and dominated possession but CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, who was looking for his first clean sheet in 39 Champions League encounters, was largely untroubled early on

Zoran Tosic should have done better for the hosts just after the half hour mark as he blazed over with his left foot from the edge of the penalty area.

Minutes later, Dele Alli grazed the top of the crossbar with an excellent drive from distance with Akinfeev beaten.

Tottenham continued to press after the break, with CSKA happy to sit back on the counter-attack. However, the Army Men lacked any pace to cause Spurs any significant problems when breaking.

The north London side took a deserved lead after 71 minutes through the in-form Son. The South Korean international, who scored twice in Saturday's 2-1 league win at Middlesbrough, just managed to get enough power on his shot to take it past Akinfeev.

The hosts pushed for an equalizer, but Hugo Lloris was largely untroubled, aside from a swerving Roman Eremenko shot from distance, as Tottenham get their Champions League campaign back on track with a valuable three points in Moscow.

Juve thrash Dinamo; Sevilla win, Monaco held

Sevilla took a giant stride towards the knockout stage of the Champions League as Wissam Ben Yedder’s header ensured a 1-0 win over Lyon on Tuesday.

Ben Yedder headed into an empty net from Luciano Vietto’s knockdown early in the second-half.

Lyon were unlucky to hit the woodwork either side of half-time through Nabil Fekir and Corentin Tolisso, but Sevilla held on for a deserved win.

Italian champions Juventus thrashed Dinamo Zagreb 4-0 after Miralem Pjanic scored one and set up another for their first victory in Champions League this season.

Paulo Dybala then added to the tally with a long-rangee shortly after the break.

Dinamo goalkeeper Adrian Semper then fumbled Dani Alves's late deflected effort into his own net.

Kamil Glik's injury-time goal rescued a 1-1 draw for Monaco  in their Group E tie against Bayer Leverkusen.

Glik's shot from the edge of the box flew into the top-left of goal in the 94th minute.

Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez scored his 100th European goal to open Leverkusen's account before Monaco went on to force a draw.
