In heartwarming letter to India's latest Olympic medallist, Mirabai Chanu, Abhinav Bindra wrote an appreciative note citing how her feat at the Tokyo Olympics is a 'small reminder of the joy that hope and perseverance can bring during the rough times of the pandemic.'
The 2008 gold medal winning shooter also told Mirabai that 'All the sacrifices you made in your quest to bring glory to the nation will make this incredible milestone even sweeter.'
Lifter Mirabai Chanu won a silver medal in the 49kg category at the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday, lifting a total of 202kg (87kg+115kg) to better Karnam Malleswari's bronze in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
