Sanaa Bhambri began her campaign in the first Grand Slam of the year on a winning note to enter the second round of the girls'singles at the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne on Tuesday.
Sanaa, who is playing the tournament for the first time, defeated Australia's Jennifer Elie 6-4, 6-3.

She will play eighth seed Sheng-Nan Sun of China in the next round.
In the doubles event, Sanaa, paired with Ayu Fani Damayanti of Indonesia, will play her first round match against third seeds Marina Erakovic of New Zealand and Ekaterina Kosminskaya of Russia.
