February 25, 2019 16:49 IST

Novak Djokovic took the honours at the Laureus Sports Awards last week but it was a Jharkhand-based NGO that put India in the spotlight at the 'Oscars of Sports'.

The week rounded off with PV Sindhu flying the Light Combat Aircraft -- Tejas at the Aero India show, to mark Women's Day.

"I am very happy about being the first woman to fly the Tejas. This day is dedicated for women. Hence I will remember this day forever," Sindhu told reporters afer the 40 minute sortie."

Here are some of the other events -- in pictures -- that made news last week.
