Chetan Anand wins Irish Open

India's Chetan Anand defeated Eric Pang to win the Irish Open Badminton Championship.

Anand, world number 26, won 8-15, 15-6, 15-7 against his higher ranked opponent in the final on Sunday.

In the semi-final, he beat England number one Aamir Ghaffar 15-8, 15-9.

The Indian had won the Welsh Open last week.

In the mixed doubles semi-final at the Irish Open, the Indian duo of V Diju and Jwala Gutta lost to theĀ  Scottish number one pair of Andrew Bowman and Kirsteen McEwan Miller 15-3, 4-15, 9-15.
