Rediff.com wins sports journalism award

Rediff.com Special Correspondent Deepti Patwardhan was a top winner in the second Tata Indian Sports Journalism Awards held in Mumbai on Thursday.

Her article 'India's reluctant hero' was adjudged Best of the Web.

Deepti was among three journalists nominated for the award, the others being Anand Vasu and Sidharth Vaidyanathan, both of Cricinfo.

Rediff.com won the inagural Best of the Web Award last year. Rediff.com Sports Editor Ivan Crasto won the prize for his article Hockey gives them a high.

The awards are instituted by the Sports Journalists Federation of India.
