Swapnil Kusale shot his way to a gold in the 50m rifle 3 position event among junior men, as India added four more medals to their kitty on the penultimate day of the 13th Asian Shooting Championship in Kuwait City on Tuesday.
Swapnil struck gold by shooting 453.3 in the finals. He reached the eight-man final in 4th position after shooting 1151 in the qualification round. Ce Wang of China won silver while Mohammed Karimi of Iran bagged the bronze medal.
Swapnil, Akhil Sheoran and Ishan Goel also won the team silver with a combined score of 3390, finishing behind China who shot a score of 3450. Korea won the bronze with a score of 3383.
In 25m rapid fire pistol junior men, the Indian team of Shivam Shukla, Rushiraj Barot and Arjun Das won the silver with a combined score of 1647. Korea won the gold with a score of 1698 while the Thai team bagged the bronze shooting 1616.
In 25m men's rapid fire pistol, Neeraj reached the six- man final but ended sixth.
Vijay Kumar, Neeraj Kumar and Akshay Ashtaputre won the team bronze with a combined score of 1712. China won the gold with a combined total of 1740 while Korea won the bronze with a total score of 1732.
