Asian Archery: Indians win six medals

Indian archers produced an impressive performance, winning six medals, including two gold, at the 16th Asian Championship in Indonesia.

Indian men's compound team of Chinna Raju Srither, I R Sanam and Ratan Singh won gold. Sanam then added another gold by winning the compound individual title at the tournament that concluded on Sunday.

The recurve men's team of Mangal Singh, Jayanta Talukdar and Rahul Banerjee won a silver, while the women trio of Jhanu Hansdah, Namita Yadav and Manjudha Soy finished second in compound team event.

Olympian Talukdar and Manjudha bagged bronze in individual recurve and compound categories respectively.

Archery Association of India President Vijay Kumar Malhotra welcomed the Indian contingent on their arrival at the Netaji Subhash Chanrda Bose International Airport, an AAI release said.
