The list of core probables of the senior men's hockey team has been pruned down to 33 from 48 after a three-day selection trials held at the SAI Centre, Bangalore from July 25-27.
Hockey India selectors B P Govinda, R P Singh and Arjun Halappa, High Performance Director Roelant Oltmans, senior men's team coach M K Kaushik and scientific advisor Jason Konrath, along with the government observer Harbinder Singh unanimously decided to prune down the list for the preparations of the 9th Asia Cup to be held from in Ipoh, Malaysia from August 24 August to September 1.
The camp that commenced on July 16 will continue till the departure of the team for the Asia Cup.

Goalkeepers: Nanak Singh, P R Sreejesh, P T Rao, Sreenivasa Rao.
Defenders: Amit Rohidas, Harbir Singh Sandhu, Rupinder Pal Singh, V R Raghunath, Gurmail Singh, Kothajit Singh, Birendra Lakra.
