India won the compound men's team gold and bagged a silver and bronze in the recurve event at the 14th Asian Archery Championships, which ended at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in New Delhi on Thursday.

India finished the meet with two gold, one silver and two bronze medals in compound and one silver and bronze in recurve.

The Indian men's team, comprising Vivek Kumar, Sivnath Nagesia, Naresh Damor and CH Lenin, scored 246 points to win the gold in compound on Thursday. China got the silver while Thailand bagged the bronze medal.

In recurve, despite their good show, the Indian men could not upstage the strong Koreans and had to rest content with the silver.

The Indian team, comprising Jayanta Talukdar, Rahul Banerjee, Tarundeep Rai and Sawayan Majhi, faltered in the first round of the final, conceding a crucial lead of five points to the Koreans.

They got their act together in the next two rounds, but in vain.

The Koreans won the gold with 251 points whereas India won the silver with 243. The bronze went to Chinese Taipei (248).

In the women's team recurve, the host team, comprising Dola Banerjee, Reena Kumari, Chekrovolu Swuro and Laxmi Rani Majhi, won the bronze medal with 229 points.
