Alok Kumar stormed into the final of the IBSF World Billiards Championship in Leeds on Friday and set up a title clash with Englishman David Causier.
The Indian cueist easily beat compatriot Devendra Joshi 5–1 (150-52, 150-34, 117-150, 150-37, 150-116, 150-138), while Causier got the better of another Englishman Rob Hall 5–1 (150-46, 79-150, 150-37, 150-27, 150-28, 150-07) in the semi-finals.
In the quarter-finals, Rupesh Shah lost out to Robert Hall 3–4 (00-150, 150-53, 107-150, 84-150, 150-94, 150-15, 19-150).
In their respective quarter-finals, Alok beat B Bhaskar 4–3 (150-55, 150-47, 150-02, 148-150, 30-150, 39-150, 150-102), while Joshi defeated Arun Agrawal 4–2 (150-72, 112-150, 150-00, 150-125, 07-150, 150-117).
Ashok Shandilya, another experienced Indian cueist, lost to Causier 0–4 (100-150, 16-150, 13-150, 103-150) while Arun Agrawal beat Michael Pearson (Aus) 4–0 (150-32, 150-105, 150-17, 150-21).
