It was a reunion of the medal winners in the men's singles at the 1996 Olympic Games as India's tennis ace Leander Paes caught up with American Andre Agassi and Sergi Bruguera of Spain during day four of the French Open in Paris, on Wednesday.

"This is the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Singles podium at @rolandgarros today! @ATPWorldTour @Olympics @AndreAgassi #RG17" - @Leander recreated the 1996 Atlanta Games singles tennis podium with American Andre Agassi and Sergi Bruguera of Spain," Paes tweeted on Wednesday.

Paes was beaten by Agassi in the semi-finals before he beat Brazil's Fernando Meligeni to claim the bronze medal. Agassi went on to win the gold medal after he outclassed Bruguera in straight sets in the final at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta.

1999 French Open champion Agassi is currently coaching Novak Djokovic, who cruised into the third round after beating Portugal's Joao Sousa 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets.

Meanwhile, Paes and his American partner defeated Radu Albot of Moldova and Hyeon Chung of South Korea 7-6 (7- 5), 4-6, 6-2 in a match lasting one hour 55 minutes.
