Amelie Mauresmo battled over three sets to overcome fellow Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli 6-3, 6-7(1), 6-3 in the semi-finals of the Strasbourg Open on Friday.
The former world number one, who is struggling to recover her best form before the French Open, will face Anabel Medina Garrigues in the final on Saturday.
The sixth-seeded Spaniard went through without playing after second seed Jelena Jankovic of Serbia withdrew, suffering from gastroenteritis.
Mauresmo, after comfortably clinching the first set 6-3, lost her rhythm and conceded the second-set tiebreak by seven points to one.
Bartoli broke serve in the first game of the third set and seemed ready to take control of the match but Mauresmo immediately struck back.
The 2006 Wimbledon champion grabbed three games in a row to take a 5-2 lead before sealing victory 6-3 after two hours 14 minutes on court.
