It was the other Jung in the Indian team, Anuja Jung, who held spotlight with a gold medal in the women's 50m Rifle 3-position.

Anuja earlier won a silver last week. Between Samaresh and Anuja, the husband and wife team, they have now got eight medals -- six silver and two bronze. Samaresh could add a couple more.

Anjali Bhagwat, the defending champion in the women's 50 Rifle 3-position event, ended fifth and out of the medal race despite making the eight-shooter final.

At the Lillydale Trap Range, Rajyavardhan Rathore put aside the disappointment of a silver in the Pairs event, with a superb win in a tense Double Trap final. He shot 181 out of 200 in the Double Trap and retained his title.

The Olympic silver medallist was in terrific form, especially in the tense closing stages, when the pressure was building up.

In the men's 25m Rapid Fire, there was double joy for India as Vijay Kumar finished first and Pemba Tamang second. The duo had earlier won the Pairs gold medal.

In the men's double trap, the battle went to the wire, as Rathore needed to shoot down both the last two two birds to win the gold outright and not be taken into a shoot-out. Rathore's main rivals and former coach, Australian Russel Mark, who had taken the gold in Pairs, was pushed to fifth.

The women's hockey team, the defending champions, brought a lot of cheer as they beat New Zealand [Images] with a goal seven minutes from time. They meet Australia in the final.

Three other boxers Akhil Kumar (54 kg), Vijender (69 kg) and Harpreet Singh (91 kg) entered the final and are assured of silver medals. Boxers Jitender Kumar and Varghese Johnson lost in the semi-finals, but still got bronze medals.
