World Swimming Championships
Michael Phelps of the US won the gold medal in the men's 100m butterfly on day 13 of the 10th Fina World Swimming Championships 2003 at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain, on Friday.
"I wanted to break it (the 200 medley record) again, so I just went out there and laid it on the line in the first 100 and tried to hold on. The first world record fired me up big time. I was pretty fired up, pretty pumped for that race," said the 18-year-old.
