Billed as the 'Clash of Champions' by Manchester United manager Alex Fergusson, the UEFA Champions League quarter-final turned out to be a farce, as Real Madrid, the men in white, mesmerised the Reds.

Manchester United, one of England's best teams, was made to look amateurish in the face of the unrelenting geniuses from Madrid. The final scoreline, 3-1, did not do justice to the amount of domination the home team exerted at the Bernabeu.
