Rakshin, Arvinder win
ColorPlus National bowling

Mumbai's Rakshin Patel humbled Anuradha Sarda of Delhi to win the women's title in the ColorPlus National bowling championships 2002, which concluded at Star City, Bangalore, late Sunday night.

Rakshin PatelThe men's title went to Delhi's Arvinder Singh, who upset State mate Mohan Lal (last year's runner-up) in the final.

The Emami team topped the corporate category by defeating HTMT, Bangalore, in the final.

Rakshin displayed immense skill in overcoming the experienced Anuradha, who was a finalist for the third consecutive year. Rakshin led right from the first game, scoring 180 as against 160 by Anuradha.

The underdog in the final, Arvinder Singh surprised the seasoned Mohan Lal by a margin of 70 points. Sarda's tally was 246 as against Mohan Lal's 176.

In the corporate category, it was a neck-and-neck battle between local team HTMT and the Emami team of Kolkata. In the end, the visitors, comprising of directors Aditya Agarwal and Manish Goenka, proved stronger as they edged past their rivals by a margin of merely nine points -- 954 - 943.
