Paes, Hill in last eight

Indian tennis ace Leander Paes and Michael Hill of Australia moved into the doubles quarter-finals at the $400,000 ATP tennis tournament in Hong Kong on Thursday.

Seeded third, Paes and Hill defeated Australia's Nathan Healey and Jordan Kerr 7-6(7/3), 2-6, 6-2 in a first round match.

The duo will meet Mark Knowles of Bahamas and Michael Kohlmann of Germany in the quarter-finals on Friday.

However, top seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Jonas Bjorkman went out losing to another Australian pair, Wayne Arthurs and Andrew Kratzmann 6-7(3/7), 3-6.

Paes and Bhupathi will play together at the Asian Games, starting in Busan on Sunday.

Bhupathi got back to action after a two-week break to rest his sore shoulder. He also missed India's Davis Cup match against Australia last week. India lost the match 0-5.
