India faces China in semis at Asian Jr Volleyball

India will meet China in the semi-finals at the 11th Asian Junior Volleyball Championship in Tehran today, volleyball Federation of India sources said.

The under-18 Indian team beat Qatar in the quarter finals 3-0 as Iran will face South Korea in the other semi final also to be played today.

Indian colts held on to their nerves and picked up their game when it mattered most and defeated Qatar in a keenly contested match 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.

India, led by Kishan Kumar, played some good matches but could only finish second in the group-A and will meet the Group B winner.

As many as 14 teams participated in the competition, being played from September 10-17.
