5 AFC teams for FIFA World Youth Championship
The Asian Football Confederation will be represented by five teams including the United Arab Emirates as hosts in the FIFA World Youth Championship 2003.
The four qualifiers will come from the ongoing AFC Under-20 Championship in Doha, Qatar. If the UAE who are in the quarter-finals of the tournament, make the semis, the four losers will play in a competition similar to the four winners.
The winner of this competition will qualify as the fifth team of the AFC for the FIFA World Youth Championship.
