Ronaldo set to make European debut for Real
Ronaldo is set to play his first Champions League match for Real Madrid on Tuesday as the reigning European champions look for a return to form against AEK Athens.
Real slumped to their first defeat of the season away to Racing Santander in the Spanish league on Saturday and coach Vicente del Bosque has demanded an immediate improvement in Tuesday's Group C clash with the Greeks.
Spanish striker Raul, who is recovering from a leg injury, and Portuguese winger Luis Figo (groin strain) are likely to miss the game.
Raul's absence almost certainly means a place in the starting line-up for Ronaldo, who has not figured in a Champions League game since his move from Inter Milan.
"Neither Figo nor Raul are in perfect shape," Del Bosque revealed after Real's training session on Monday. "The important thing is that they get over their injuries.
"It (the match) is an opportunity for us to give the fans something to enjoy again (and)...for us to gain three points and move forward to the second phase."
