Randhawa tied-11th at BMW Asian Open

Opening round leader Jyoti Randhawa shot a two-under 70 on Saturday to tie for the 11th position after the penultimate round in the $1.5 million BMW Asian Open, being played at the par-72, Ta Shee Golf and Country Club, in Taiwan.

Randhawa, currently ranked second on the Davidoff Asian PGA Tour's Order of Merit, tallies six-under 210 for the tournament.

Among the other Indians in the fray, Arjun Singh slipped from his overnight sixth position to the tied-16th spot courtesy a one-over 73 today, with his tally standing at five-under 211.

Arjun Atwal and Vijay Kumar, however, put up better performances, with the former shooting a three-under 69 to climb to the 30th position at 214 and Vijay bringing in a card of two-under 70 to settle at the tied-40th place at 215.

Randhawa's round did not begin too auspiciously, but the twice Hero Honda Masters winner, overcame his bogey start in style with birdies on the second, third and sixth. His second bogey of the day on the 13th was undone by a birdie on the very next hole.

Atwal played his front-nine to perfection, with birdies on the second, third and seventh, placing him at three-under at the lemon-break. A bogey on the 12th was followed by his fourth birdie of the day on the 14th.

Meanwhile, the Cosmo Films-sponsored Vijay Kumar, who made his first cut on his debut season on the Asian PGA Tour, birdied the second, third, sixth and 16th with bogeys on the 11th and 17th preventing him from hoisting himself higher onto the leader-board.
