Jansher pulls out of World Open

Eight-times former world champion Jansher Khan will not take part in next month's World Open in Antwerp, fuelling speculation that his surprise comeback may be over.

The 33-year-old Pakistani admits he is not yet fit enough to compete at the highest level and, after being sidelined for four years with knee, back and other injuries, it looks increasingly unlikely that he can fullfil his dream of playing regularly on the world circuit again.

But Jansher himself continues to deny this.

"Next year I will be super-fit for participation in all international tournaments," he said.

Jansher has reportedly struggled to train properly since his knee operation in 1998, and his withdrawal from the last week's Qatar Classic in Doha may have been caused by another hip injury.
