Unseeded Vishal Uppal shocked fourth seed Eliran Dooyev of Israel 7-5, 6-7(3/7), 6-3 to storm into the semi-finals in the Indian Oil Servo ITF Satellite Masters tennis tournament in Bangalore on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old from Delhi, who had upset seventh seed Rafael Moreno-Negri of Spain on Tuesday, continued his good run to outlasted his opponent in a battle of nerves that lasted nearly two-and-a-half hours.

In the semi-finals, at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association courts on Thursday, Uppal will meet second seed and compatriot Mustafa Ghouse, who had a relatively easy outingy against fourth seed Hayato Furukawa of Japan.

The 21-year-old Ghouse, who won the second leg of the Satellite series in Mumbai, won 6-3, 6-4.

Notwithstanding Dooyev's exit, it was not a bad day for Israel as unseeded Tomer Suissa continued his giant-killing run, defeating eighth seeded Vinod Sridhar 7-6(7/2), 6-1 in an hour and 40 minutes.

Suissa, who ousted top seed Nitin Kirtane in the pre-quarters on Tuesday, shrugged off a sluggish start to snatch a berth in the last four.

He will meet sixth seed Vijay Kannan, who surprised compatriot and third seed Sandeep Kirtane 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 in another quarter-final.
