Sipaeya, Bruthans to clash in final

Slovakia's Victor Bruthans and India's Sunil Kumar Sipaeya will clash in the title round in the $10,000 prize-money Stellar ITF Futures Tennis tournament in Gulbarga, Karnataka, on Saturday.

In the semi-finals on Friday, third seeded Bruthans had no difficulty in beating India's Rohan Gajjar, a wild-card entrant, 6-3 6-2, while Sipaeya, seeded number six, defeated eighth seeded Eliran Dooyev of Israel 6-3, 7-5.

In the doubles semi-final, the Slovakian duo of Bruthans and Michel Varsanyi struggled before scoring a hard-fought 7-6 (7-2), 7-5 victory over the Indian pair of Nitin Kirtane and Sourav Panja.

In the doubles final on Saturday, they meet the Indian pair of Harsh Mankad and Ajay Ramaswamy.
