East Bengal trounce Tollygunge

An improved second-half display enabled title holders East Bengal whip Tollygunge Aggragami 4-1 in the Kolkata Super Division football league on Tuesday.

After a barren first session, when Tollygunge called the shots, the red and gold brigade came into their own after the breather to open up a 3-0 lead within the space of 28 minutes.

Alvito D'Counha, Mike Okoro and Subhasish Roychowdhury scored for the glamour outfit before Mehtab Hussain pulled one back for the losers at the Salt Lake stadium.

Speedy teenager Subhas Chakrabory finally made the scoreline 4-1 eight minutes from time.

East Bengal have 22 points from eight matches. Tollygunge, who have played a match less, are on 11 points.
