Jeev finishes tied-18th
at Sun Chlorella Classic

Jeev Milkha Singh returned a three-under 69 to finish tied 18th at the 120-million-yen Sun Chlorella Classic, at the par-72 Sapporo Bay Golf Club in Hokkaido, Japan.

The Indian ace's tournament tally stood at 12-under 276.

The Hero Honda Motors-sponsored golfer was playing scintillating golf with his card displaying an impressive four-under with four holes to play. However, a 45 minute delay at that stage, due to inclement weather, upset his rhythm, and back-to-back bogeys on the 15th and 16th ruined what looked like a picture perfect card. A birdie on the 18th undid the damage to some extent. Jeev's earlier birdies came on the 1st, 4th, 8th and 12th.

Christian Pena got the better of Brendan Jones and Naomichi Ozaki in a three-way play-off to emerge triumphant after the three finished tied at 19-under 269 after 72 holes.

While Jones and Ozaki finished second, Tetsuji Hiratsuka, Yasuharu Imano and Brad Andrews occupied the fourth position at 18-under 270.

SCORES (after 72 holes): 269 _ Christian Pena (67,67,66,69), Brendan Jones (66,68,70,65), Naomichi Ozaki (67,67,68,67); 270_Tetsuji Hiratsuka(68,68,69,65), Yasuharu Imano(71,70,64,65), Brad Andrews(65,72,69,64); 271_Toru Taniguchi(67,69,68,67); 272_Tsuneyuki Nakajima(67,68,67,69); 273_Zhang Lian-Wei(67,68,70,68), Tateo Ozaki(70,68,66,69).
