Capriati creeps up elite list

Jennifer Capriati has spent three weeks as world number one in women's tennis, only the ninth top-ranked player since rankings were first introduced in 1975.

She now trails Spain's Arantxa Sanchez Vicario by eight weeks in the all-time list.

Steffi Graf holds the record for most weeks at number one, having spent 378 weeks at the pinnacle of the sport.
