The Heavyweights

Mike Tyson (1966 - )

Nickname: Iron Mike

On March 6, 1985, Mike Tyson made his pro debut with a first round knock-out of Hector Mercedes. He finished his first year with a record of 15-0, all by knock-out. A reputation was established and he was soon crowned heavyweight champion, the youngest ever.

But Tyson failed to avoid controversy in his career. In February of 1990, he was knocked out by 42-1 underdog James 'Buster' Douglas, in what is known as the biggest upset in boxing history.

Is Tyson past his best? A question best left unanswered.
