Humpy's GM title chase to start next month

World junior chess champion Koneru Humpy's quest for the third GM norm will start next month when she tours Hungary and Yugoslavia with a much improved ELO rating and high on confidence.

The 14-year-old also has a chance to replace Hungarian GM Judit Polgar in the record books as the youngest woman to become a Men's GM if she wins her third norm before August 22 next year.

"I have to improve and concentrate more on my openings and middle game in the years to come," Humpy told reporters here today on her return after a dream run in East Europe.

She said the Third Saturday GM chess tournament was more gratifying to her as she remained unbeaten on way to her second GM norm. Humpy said her aim was to win the world title and for that she would put in all efforts.

Apart from becoming the first Indian woman to acheive a second GM norm, Humpy also won titles at Budapest and Belgrade.
