 Women's Olympic records
• South Korea won the Olympic women's archery team gold medal with a world record score. South Korea set a women's team 54-arrow archery world record of 502 points.
• Ukranian Yana Klochkova has set the first
world record of the Olympic Games in the
women's 400 metre individual medley. Her
time of 4:33:59 shaved a second off the
previous world record.
• Squat powerhouse Xiaomin Chen snatched a
record 112.5 kilograms in the second Chinese
victory so far. It was the sixth world mark for women
in three days of competition. In the 69-kilograms division, Hungary's Erzesebet Markus was leading after the snatch breaking yet another world record with a lift of 112.5 kilograms.
