Mongia replaces injured Saba Karim

Nayan Mongia will replace the injured Syed Saba Karim in the ongoing Asia Cup cricket tournament in Dhaka.

Indian cricket team manager Samiran Chakrabarty, who returned to Calcutta along with Saba Karim, who was hit below his right eye while keeping wickets during the rain-restricted match against Bangladesh on Tuesday, said that the team management had requested Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary J Y Lele for a replacement on Tuesday itself, and after consultations with the national selectors, Mongia's name was decided upon.

Mongia left this morning and is expected to play in India's next match against Sri Lanka tomorrow.
