MacGill gets the stick

Australian and New South Wales leg spinner Stuart MacGill was on Saturday fined a total of 350 US dollars for dissent and using crude language.

Umpires John Smeaton and Paul Mulcahy reported MacGill over an incident during Friday's morning session of the Sheffield Shield cricket match between New South Wales and Tasmania in Hobart.

Tasmanian Cricket Association chief executive David Johnston said the two charges were heard by the Tasmanian Code of Conduct commissioner Bruce Neill before Saturday's play resumed. He said MacGill was found guilty of both charges and fined for each offence.
