Hock will play at SydneyAtlanta silver medallist Yap Kim Hock is reported to have gone back on his decision to withdraw from the Sydney Olympics. Badminton Association of Malaysia's coaching and training committee chairman Datuk Zainal Dahalan denied that the 30-year-old was pressured into changing his mind, and said that both Yap and partner Cheah Soon Kit would resume training immediately for the doubles competition at the Games. Yap has been plagued with injuries of late, most recently in his right calf, and one of his reasons for quitting was the tough training regime. Zainal said that BAM were willing to draw up a more flexible training programme for the shuttler in order to allow him to recover from his injury. He will not, however, play in the forthcoming Proton-Eon Malaysia Open. Cheah will instead partner Ng Keon Kok. Yap and Cheah are expected to bid farewell to international competition after the Sydney Games.
