iGate Global Solutions adds momentum to its testing practices by setting up an independent verification and validation (IV & V) centre of excellence at its software development facility in Bangalore.

The centre will focus on test process consulting, test automation, performance testing and functional testing services for its global clients, company officials said in Bangalore on Wednesday.

Testing practices within the company started almost a year back and currently contributes about 6 per cent to the company's topline of Rs 564 crore (RS 5.64 billion).

While the company has a dedicated team of about 300 testing professionals, it plans to raise the team to 600 in the next 12-15 months, said Mohan Sekhar, member of the board and chief delivery officer, iGate.

"We expect that with the setting up of the COE and by broadening our services portfolio, testing will contribute about 10 per cent to the company's topline by the end of the next financial year," he added.
