Suicide dramas in Hyderabad continue. A week after a youth from Telanagana hogged headlines for threatening to commit suicide if the demand for a separate the state was not met soon, a home guard created a similar stir in the city.

On Thursday, Home Guard Srinivas Naik threatened to jump from the All India Radio communication tower in Hyderabad alleging that he had not received his salary for the last three months.
Hundreds gathered as Naik climbed atop the tower. His wife was seen weeping as she pleaded him not to take the drastic step.
Naik was forcefully brought down from the tower by the Hyderabad police who jumped into action immediately. He was arrested for threatening to kill himself.
Meanwhile, the general strike over Telangana entered Day 17 as protests intensified in the region.
