Yeddyurappa to skip national executive BJP meet

Former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said on Saturday that he will not participate in the national executive meet of the Bharatiya Janata Party scheduled to be held in Mumbai on May 24 and 25.

"There is political indecisiveness in the state BJP. I have decided not to participate in BJP executive meeting," Yeddyurappa said.

Yeddyurappa's decision to skip the national meet comes days after he stopped just short of quitting the BJP. He announced on Monday that he is not quitting the party, but enjoyed the support of 70 of the party's 121 MLAs.

'I will NOT join the Congress'

The senior BJP leader also said had rejected the offer to join the Congress. Addressing the media in Bengaluru he said that there was no question of him joining the Congress or any other party. 

Karnataka Congress chief K Parameshwar had invited him to join party. "Yeddyurappa is welcome to join the Congress but would have to register as a member first," he had said.

'Ananth Kumar not allowing BJP to grow'

Yeddyurappa took a dig at party colleague Ananth Kumar once again and said that he was not allowing anyone to grow in the BJP. He also clarified that he is neither a contender for the post of CM or the state party president.

The senior BJP leader had a fallout with the party after he was forced to quit as Karnataka CM nine months ago. He stepped down from the post after a Lokayukta report indicted him in an illegal mining scam.
